The Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) under ASEAN-Norwegian Cooperation Project on Local Capacity Building for Reducing Plastic Pollution in the ASEAN region (ASEANO) and has collaborated as an organizer with Centre for Environment and Sustainability Science (CESS) Universitas Padjadjaran. This Microplastics Sampling and Analysis: Hybrid Course aims to provide capacity-building programs for microplastics experts, strengthen the use of microplastics analysis, enhance experts knowledge through training, and prepare a microplastics laboratory.
This course is conducted in the format of an hybrid introduction course followed by a discussion session based upon previous experience from the participants. There will be microplastic experts from the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) giving the introduction course and moderating the discussion session. The course is open for scientific personnel, technicians, or PhD students that already have interest and some experience in microplastic analysis or would like to start building this competence.
Hybrid Course which was held on August 18, 2022, from 11.00-17.45 WIB, was carried out online through zoom and face-to-face learning at the Graduate School of Padjadjaran University (3rd floor) Jl. Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung, and sampling practices were carried out live streaming from Teras Cikapundung Bandung, West Java. The number of participants who have taken this course is 137, consisting of 8 offline participants and 129 online participants. The participants are lecturers, researchers, students, civil servants, research assistants, laboratory staff, housewives, and environmental researchers.
