The Physics Department, FMIPA, Universitas Padjadjaran continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency by implementing the latest technology in the management of laboratory facilities. One of the concrete steps that has been taken is the installation of a PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor in the Instrumentation Physics Laboratory.
This PIR motion sensor is used to control the lighting in the laboratory, so that the lights will only turn on when there is an activity in the room and will automatically turn off when the room is empty. This step not only saves the use of electrical energy but also extends the life of lamps and other equipment.
This implementation is in line with the vision of the Physics Department which focuses on innovation and relevance in education and research, as well as contributing to solving global problems such as climate change and resource management.
The Physics Department, FMIPA, Unpad will continue to seek ways to improve operational efficiency and sustainability, including plans to expand the use of PIR motion sensors to other rooms in the department. With steps like this, the Physics Department shows its dedication to being a pioneer in the application of technology that supports energy saving and sustainability
