The H-Index, also known as the Hirsch Index or Hirsch Number, is a benchmark for a scientist, whether as a writer, lecturer or researcher, in developing the results of his/her scientific work. This knowledge takes the form of published research results, Intellectual Property Rights, as well as various articles. The H-Index tries to measure both productivity and impact of work published by a scientist or academician. The calculation of the expertise index is counted based on the number of research studies and research publication citations uploaded via a Google Scholar and Scopus accounts.

There are 10 lecturers and researchers of Universitas Padjadjaran  who publish their researches in an international scale with a reputation on the global Scopus index. These researchers are under the central unit for gender, tourism, policy and other studies. The contributions made by these researchers are real actions in performance in the academic world, whether in terms of number of publications, number of citations, affiliations, h-index numbers, distribution of publications, and others.
